TIER ONE (FOR JOBS WITHOUT MAJOR PROBLEMS)

Editing starts at $26.00 for the first 3000 words or part thereof and continues at $16.00 for each 3500 words or part thereof thereafter. Manuscripts of 3000 words or less will usually be $26.00. 
A picture book text will be $26.00. Two picture book texts subbed at the same time will be $42.00 and three picture book texts subbed at the same time will be $58.00.

Here's the formula for a normal one-pass Tier One edit. 
1. Do a word count.   100,000 words
2. Set aside the first 3000 words or part thereof   100,000-3000 = 97,000
3. Divide the remainder by 3500   97000 divided by 3500 = 28
4. Multiply the result by 16  28 x 16 = 448
5. Add 26  to cover the first 3000 words  448 + 26 = $474
6. The answer will be the probable dollar amount for your one-pass Tier One edit.

Here's the formula for a normal one-pass Tier Two edit.  
1. Do a word count.   50,000 words
2. Set aside the first 3000 words or part thereof   50,000-3000 = 47,000
3. Divide the remainder by 3500   47000 divided by 3500 = 13
4. Multiply the result by 25  13 x 25 = 325
5. Add 40  to cover the first 3000 words  325 + 40 = $365
6. The answer will be the probable dollar amount for your one-pass Tier Two edit.

If you want an edit/assessment combo, work out the price for an edit and add 16 for your quote. The combo must be done in the same operation.  If you ask for an assessment first and an edit of the same material a few weeks later, that is two separate jobs, although you will get an $11 discount.
