Writers’ Talks and Workshops 2017 with Sally Odgers
Sally Odgers offers these workshops and author sessions in March, May, June, August, September and November 2017.
Boot Camp/ Class Magazine. (Writers spend an extended period of a day or half day working like professionals to produce a print-ready magazine. Suits Years 4 and up.) – Necessities: computers and printer, access to clip art and/or a scanner.
Story Shaping. (Writers learn how to produce properly shaped and plotted stories. Suits Years 4 and up)
Picture a Poem. (An hour-long workshop that ends with a polished and decorated poem ready for mounting. Suits Years 2 and up.) Necessities: blank paper, coloured pencils.
Interactive Storytelling. (Stories and poems. Suits Kinder to Year 3)
Q&A (Question and answer session. Suits Years 3 and up)
Reason to Write. (PD for parents and teachers and other interested adults.) Copies of the Reason to Write book available from author as paperback or PDF.
Creating Characters. (How to create distinctive characters. Suits Years 3 and up)
Building the Forest. (Helps writers become more fluent. Suits Years 3 and up)
Jigsaw Writing. (Helps children develop new and exciting ideas and turn them into stories. Suits Years 4 and up)
Picture book Writing. (On writing picturebook texts. Suits Years 5 and up)
How to be an Awesome Author. (Suits Years 3 and up) Paperback of the associated book is available from the author.
How Not to Shoot Your Manuscript in the Metaphorical Foot (Adults and senior teens only)
Price within Tasmania: $330.00 per *full day, plus travelling expenses.
