Writing a Children's Book Course
This new course is tailored to your specific needs. It's ideal for someone writing a first book or changing genres, and also for someone wanting a framework and timetable. This is the way it works.

In the body of the email briefly describe the book you wish to write by answering as many of the following queries as you wish. The only ones that must be addressed are marked with *. If not sure, or if you have no preference, answer these with "open".
*1. Approximate length (e.g. 20,000 words, picture book length, 7,000 words, 50,000 words)
*2. Genre (e.g. fantasy, family story, adventure)
*3. Target age group (e.g. picture book, 6-8 years, upper primary, YA)
4. Subject (e.g. girl lost in caves, boy builds robot, new teacher is an alien)
5. Tone (e.g. humour, thriller)
6. Voice and/or tense (e.g. first person, third person limited, past tense, present tense)
7. Format (e.g. narrative, journal, told-in-letters)
Your first lesson will be emailed to you. Lessons, each tailored to your specific work and progress, will follow at whatever speed you choose. Each will be accompanied by a target sheet. The cost of the course includes a full assessment and edit of the finished ms.
COST
An account will be sent with the first lesson, and payment is due within a week of delivery of this lesson unless negotiated otherwise. Cost will be calculated in relation to the probable length of your ms, which is why that question is compulsory. Below is a scale of prices. And by the way, if your story runs a bit over-length that's OK. If it looks like going a lot over-length an additional payment may be negotiated.
Picture book - easy read length - up to 5,000 words. $55.00.
5000 - 10,000 words - $66.00.
10,000-20,000 words - $77.00.
20,000 - 30,000 words - $88.00.
For each additional 10,000 words after this, the price goes up by $15.00.
