Illustrators for Hire
Matthew Shires says-
Ever since I was introduced to Graeme Base’s work by my uncle, I wanted to be a book illustrator, seven years old at the time.
I have been drawing and painting really seriously for the past 15 years, and in that time I have met a group of diverse illustrators who some I can call my friends, peers. Ann James and Ann Haddon are the nucleus to this group and they are very supportive indeed.
I draw and paint from my surrounds, what is nostalgic to me and also what my imagination sends me too.
I use a variety of mediums such as ink and wash, watercolour/pencil, acrylic, oils and felt pens.
