Where?  Affordable Manuscript Assessments (AffMA) is based in Tasmania, but its real home is here on the www.

 

 

Who?  Sally Odgers (manuscript assessor and editor). Lauren Gilbert (developmental and basic editor).

 

Sally Odgers has been writing for over 30 years. Her publications include children's books at all levels, historical novels, fantasy and romance for adults, non-fiction, educational material, poetry and scripts. She began tutoring young (and not-so-young) writers in the late 1970s, and branched out into manuscript assessment in the 1990s.

 

Originally from New York, Lauren Gilbert now resides in Adelaide, Australia. She currently works as a senior editor for a North American e-publisher as well as operates her own editing business for clients from many writing backgrounds from countries around the world.

 

Why? Manuscript assessors help writers make the most of their manuscripts before they approach publishers. Assessors pick up problems in style, plot, character and format and help you fix them. This can be expensive, but AffMA is committed to reasonable prices and value for money.

 

What? We offer manuscript assessment, editing, practical writing workshops, school visits and mentoring.
